Your SAP Is Changing. Your Trading Partners Shouldn't Notice.

EDI is one of the first things to break in an SAP migration, and one of the last things anyone budgets for.

Talent Scarcity

Finding a specialized internal SAP EDI expert is a multi-month bottleneck, and your conversion or upgrade timeline won't wait for the hire.

Hidden Migration Costs

Many EDI providers charge change-order fees just to lift and shift your current maps to a new SAP system.

Operational Risk

Go-lives leave no room for missed documents. Every order, ship notice and invoice has to flow from day one, or your customers notice.

How It Works, and Why It's Free

If something sounds free, you should ask where the catch is. Here is exactly how this works.

  1. Technical Assessment
    • We review your active trading partners
    • We review your current maps and setup
    • We align the EDI work to your go-live
  2. The Zero-Cost Build
    • Our team handles all mapping and translation
    • IDocs, partner profiles and output setup
    • Cloud Connector or API connectivity
  3. Integrated Testing
    • Built into your project's test cycles
    • We work directly with your upgrade team
    • Every partner flow validated before cutover
  4. Ongoing Managed EDI
    • No upfront fees: CONTAX covers the work
    • Arcus per-document pricing from go-live
    • Monitoring and partner onboarding included

Why Companies Trust CONTAX With Their EDI Migration

We Understand SAP

CONTAX is an SAP Gold Partner, and our EDI team works in SAP every day. We know how IDocs, output, partner profiles and master data behave, so we catch SAP-side issues before they reach your partners.

Maps Built by EDI Experts

We review, update and test every map for your new SAP system, for every partner and transaction: orders, ship notices, invoices, payments and more. Our library of proven maps shortens the work, and nothing goes live untested.

We Work With Your Business

EDI is a business process, not just a file format. We work with your customer service, shipping, purchasing and finance teams to confirm how documents should flow, and we coordinate testing so your people only review and sign off.

Whichever Path You Take, Your EDI Comes With You

Arcus supports SAP ECC and every S/4HANA edition.

ECC to S/4HANA
Brownfield conversion or greenfield implementation, on-premise or hosted. We reconnect and retest your existing EDI against the converted system.
S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition
The edition you run under a RISE with SAP subscription. We set up the SAP Cloud Connector link between your system and Arcus as part of the project.
S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
SAP's multi-tenant cloud ERP, offered through GROW with SAP. Arcus connects through SAP's released APIs and integration options, keeping your core clean.
SAP Upgrades
ECC enhancement packs and S/4HANA release upgrades. We regression test your EDI so the upgrade doesn't interrupt orders, shipments or invoices.

No Cost Until You're Live

Arcus pricing is simple: you pay per document, and only once your EDI is running in production.

No Upfront Fees

Map development, SAP-side setup and testing for your migration are included, with no licenses to buy and no infrastructure to manage.

Pay From Go-Live

A per-document fee based on your volume, starting only when transactions are flowing in production on your new SAP system.

Changes Included

Partner onboarding, map changes and VAN costs are all included in the per-document fee, so there are no separate project bills.

Moving From Another EDI Provider

Your SAP migration is the ideal time to switch. Instead of paying your current provider change-order fees to move your maps, move to Arcus and we will migrate your partners and maps to your new SAP system at no upfront cost, one partner at a time, so orders, shipments and invoices keep flowing.

S/4HANA EDI Migration FAQ

Is the EDI migration really free? What's the catch?

There are no upfront implementation fees. CONTAX absorbs the cost of mapping, SAP-side configuration, testing and go-live support, and you only pay Arcus per-document pricing starting at go-live. We invest in the partnership upfront because we know our service scales with your business.

When does billing start?

Per-document billing starts when your EDI is running in production on your new SAP system. There are no setup, software or project fees before that.

Is RISE with SAP the same as S/4HANA?

RISE with SAP is SAP's subscription offering: the software, cloud infrastructure and SAP's technical operations in one contract. The ERP system you run under RISE is S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition. S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is offered through GROW with SAP. Arcus supports both, as well as S/4HANA on-premise and ECC.

Does this apply to SAP upgrades too?

Yes. Whether you are moving to a new S/4HANA release or applying an ECC enhancement pack, we regression test your EDI against the upgraded system with no upfront fees.

We use a different EDI provider today. Can we still take advantage of this?

Yes. Many companies use their S/4HANA move as the time to switch providers, since every map needs to be reviewed and tested anyway. We migrate your partners and maps to Arcus and your new SAP system with no upfront cost, one partner at a time.

Does CONTAX need to be our S/4HANA implementation partner?

No. We are happy to deliver your full S/4HANA project, but if another partner is leading the migration, our EDI team works alongside them and aligns the EDI cutover with their project plan.

Will our trading partners need to do anything?

Usually very little. Some partners require a round of testing or recertification when your system changes. We coordinate that testing directly with them, so your team doesn't have to manage the back-and-forth.

How does EDI work with S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition?

S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is designed around a clean core, so integrations use SAP's released APIs and communication arrangements rather than custom configuration. Arcus connects through APIs and web services as well as IDocs, so we can support Public Edition implementations.

How long does the EDI migration take?

It runs in parallel with your SAP project and is timed to your go-live. The main factors are the number of partners and transactions, and how quickly partners can test. We plan the EDI work into your project timeline from the start.
